In the UK, there remains the idea of bank holidays. Brought into law in 1871, these were days off so the banks could get caught up on the books. The whole country, moved to the speed of the banks ability to keep up to date.
An under appreciated aspect of swapping to agentic workflows, is the speed gains. They can run 24/7, processes that would take days can run nearly instantly. This speeds up the pace of business. You don’t have to run at human speed.
A funny thought automated factories don’t need lights. Only for when the humans visit.
Faster times, means more efficiency, and more value for customers. It might even open up new customers who couldn’t engage before because the time aspect diminished the value of a project.
Because of gains from agentic flows a consulting company found, they could now handle projects that needed turning around in less than 3 months. This then lets them expand and pick up those last minute projects, that before were unachievable. It also is a win for the market who prior had an unmet need.
Yet, with all that speed. You cannot change the speed of the customer. Mainstream adoption remains the constraining factor for technology. Which is why most of these speed gains, are behind the scenes.
