Why?
79.7% of organizations must overhaul strategies every 2–5 years to survive. TikTok’s rapid rise from 0% to 6.5% of U.S. video ad spend in two years demonstrates how quickly new platforms disrupt budgets. Change is coming at marketers, faster & more frequently.
We don’t know which idea it will be, but each year there will be at least one which has a meaningful impact on your business. Ideally we will look back in 5 years and pinpoint when we covered a new part of the marketing mix.
The idea is for ideas to be at the early stage, by the time it’s on the Gartner hype cycle it’s too late. But so this newsletter is for those that do have an eye on the future, and believe by getting a better understanding earlier, they can navigate these changes more successfully.
The format of Dux arose from another newsletter Ben has written, for Nudge. That newsletter goes deep into the important stories, M&A, campaigns, research and trends at the intersection of media, marketing & content. The format, whilst successful, can be too dense for folks whose time is precious. Hence, Dux, to just focus on one thing each week.
